Kitten season is in full swing and more and more orphaned kittens are coming into Dallas Animal Services each day.
Unfortunately, well meaning animal lovers mistakenly take many kittens from their mothers, who have left them behind and are off searching for food.
If you see kittens outside, stop and observe before you pick them up. If the mom has been gone for 8+ hours, or if the kittens appear sick, thin, or covered in fleas, you can take action to help those kittens by bringing them inside.
If you're willing to care for the kittens until they're two months old (or weigh 2 Ibs) and can be spayed/neutered for adoption, call 311 and let them know you're interested in being a finder foster so you can receive resources and supplies. Otherwise, text KITTEN to (833) 936-0421.
